Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese Legend.
Thumb represents your Parents;
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings;
Middle finger represents your-Self;
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner;
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children.
Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip (As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents), they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings), they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.
Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children), they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.
Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT, because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!

How does it feel to wear rings? Doesn't that make you uneasy?

-sometimes it does make u uneasy, specially in summers, and if the ring is bulky and if you have to type/eat. I take it off while doing so and often get a heart attack when I realize it missing from my finger :)
-wearing a ring feels like wearing a ring :p hmm,it feels good specially if the ring is special..i love my rings and i love wearing them :)
try wearing one, does wearing a watch make u uncomfortable, wesay hee hota hai.

1. The wedding ring is worn on the 4th finger because the vein of that finger comes straight from the heart.
(I haven't done research on this but have heard of it)
2. For last three or four days i have been wearing a ring and the ring has made me uncomfortable and so i decided to take of the ring. and believe me it was very scratchy experience.

i heard that(point 1) in an indian movie.

My watch certainly makes me feel uncomfortable at times. I have to readjust it when typing or writing. Only wear it outside my home, but always do. And the first thing I do when I come in is to take it off. Well... I'm bit of a time freak and, likewise, if I find I've left it at home my heart misses a beat or two. I guess rings work like that, right?

I must confess I don't like rings or for that matter any metallic wearables, glasses being the only exception since they're metallic anyway.

PS: [1] and [2] suggest that the veins (and corresponding arteries)to the fourth finger and thumb are the first to branch out from basilic and cephalic veins (ulnar and radial arteries respectively). Since thumb is not used for wearing rings that leaves us with the fourth finger. Maybe point 1 was referring to that.

For me the whole story was not about the issue of wearing a ring or not to wear it...it was about commitment and lasting relationships.

It's not a matter of ring or Ferrari, its all about feelings and emotions…which surely don't give an uneasy or scratchy feeling :)
