Love lights

The night has a thousand eyes, and the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies, with the dying sun.
The mind has a thousand eyes, and the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies, when love is done.

I dont exactly know about the view of General Public but as far as I am concerned this really happens - One of your feelings overcome all of the other feelings and they become meaningless.

Syra said...

yes, that happens..the heart becomes numb to other feelings but one.

Classic .... :) this one was great .. but i rephrased it ;)

Have you ever been in love? "Masti" isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one "amazing" person, "totally" different from "all" other stupid person, wanders into your "silent" life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you "wandering" in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. "Its awesome". Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-mover, a real "gets-inside-you-and-opens-your-heart". I "love" love.

its awesome !!!
Dont try using it on somebody assuming its gonna sound awesome !

Not everything in life is a joke or Masti! Try understanding the sensitivity of certain issues and that certain battles are best fought with silence !

Farhan, the poet is saying that life is dull and dark without love; Love of/for God, parents, friends, siblings, neighbors or the love of that one special person.
Imagine life with no love at all, not being on the receiving end, or the giving end.It would be a meaningless life right?, a dead heart? So there is an analogy here, Love lights up one's life just like the sun brightens the world. I hope things are a bit clear. Now reread the verses by Francis =).You will understand better

Now coming to your second comment.
I posted that after I saw a bit of the movie 'devdas'.If you have seen or heard the legendary story Paro is devdas's childhood love and vice versa. As shown, they truly are in love. Due to certain differences devdas's family opposes devdas's marriage to paro. Now,in the moment of crisis instead of standing up for his one true love, he cowardices out and abandons paro. He writes her an insensitive letter telling her that from onwards they will forget the past, assume they shared no love bw them and live their lives as random neighbors.Paro is extremely hurt, shocked and devastated. "just friends, just neighbors"--doesnt sound good in such a scenario does it? As the story proceeds
devdas ends up being an alcoholic and causing nothing but misery for himself and paro. So devdas love for paro is hateable. It isn't awesome! The soul tearing shock that paro goes through is not awesome. It's depressing. It's painfully killing.

@Saira: Hehehhahahaha ... it is masti, you just need to understand how it can be :P .... "Dont try using it on somebody assuming its gonna sound awesome" - Totally agree

@Syra: Thanks for explanation :) ... but for devdas, its a movie :)

P.S. I know how i am behaving here but its how i usually do :) ..... and yes, love is not a joke, not at all... my comments above are of course shughal.... i respect the feeling of love and know how serious it is and can be...

AND YES, Life is useless without this special feeling :)

Peace :)

Love is a very pure, sacred feeling. It's disgraceful to call it masti and shugal!

There are such wonderful examples of The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and his companions love for Allah and each other.

Devdas is a movie story, near to many true stories. Unfortunately some "real" stories are worse and more painful.

kewl =). yesss bro..be careful...I have some very sensitive readers who don't like any non-sense on serious issues.I myself appreciate sensitivity.
Peace all the way.

all of the above reminded me of this :

woh to khushboo hai hawaon main bikher jayega,
mas'a'la phool ka hai phool kidher jaayega,
hum to sumjhay thai ke ik zakham hai bhar jayega,
kiya khaber thi ke rug-o-jaan mai utter jaaega !

@Syra: I'm sorry if you felt this. I never disgraced the feeling of love and i never can. I admire it ... (This time I am serious)

@Saira lyrics selection: True true ... (This time I am serious)

My personal opinion on this topic: "Yes, it is difficult at times to see the future, but my advice: 'life is too precious to waste on non-serious ones'" (This time I am VERY serious)

npz bro =)
no hard feelings at all.

It is difficult at times to see the future, but my advice: "be just and do the right thing, no matter how hard it may be"

"Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. … It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more."

Nice quote Saira (Y),
Here is a mazaydar quote by Rumi sahab: "Let the lover be disgraceful, crazy, absent-minded. Someone sober will worry about events going badly. Let the lover be."
