Traits of a best friend

'So who is your best friend' is a question frequently asked. I have come up with a list of traits I find befitting on that one person you can label as your best friend.

- someone around whom you can be yourself; no formality, no judgements

- someone with you can talk about anything and everything; the good, the bad, the jokes, the serious talks, the whining, the laughters

- someone who is always there for you in the hour of need or otherwise; this could be as light as getting together for an unplanned icecream craving or as serious as being the first one to help you out of some deep trouble

- someone who will walk an extra mile for you

- someone whose company is always welcome

- someone with whom you share the same rights and wrongs

Hmmmm, what more, add to my list =)

 

Locked Words

What stops the person from unlocking the words, expressing his\her feelings and seeking the truth? By keeping the words locked in heart, isn't the person keeping himself\herself in a locked state of mind? Is wondering better than knowing?

20-20 Cricket

'20-20 cricket' It's entertaining, it's thrilling and this shorter form of the sport has revived my interest in the game. I used to be a die-hard fanatic of cricket, but for the last few years my passion for cricket has been declining or you can say that it almost faded away.Thanks to the 20-20 World Cup I am excited about cricket again.

"Twenty20 cricket already has the potential to replace the ODIs as the most populist version of the sport," Wasim Akram told Reuters. He futher says "The Twenty20 World Cup has been a big success in terms of the interest it has evoked and people coming in to the grounds. You didn't get such big crowds and excitement even in the World Cup in West Indies."

I agree to Wasim Akram, and totallly enjoy watching the Twenty20 matches.What about you guys? Do you see Twenty20 cricket emerging and replacing ODI's as the most popular form of cricket?

Why does beauty lie in the eye of the beholder

A friend of mine e-mailed me yesterday asking my opinion on beauty. She wrote "How come everyone's definition of beauty is different? How come someone I find beautiful doesn't appear so to another individual and vice versa? I can understand that having an appreciation for things is something that cultivates as a result of our surroundings,we tend to like stuff that someone we hold in high opnion likes and so that's how we set certain criteria for judging what's good and what's bad but I don't think that's the way things work for judging the beauty of a person I'm talking about physical beauty here good looks that is"

This got me thinking on the subject. God has made everybody unique. We differ in style, habits, likes and dislikes. Even siblings growing up in a similar enviroment differ in nature. So I would say that an individuals sense of beauty comes from within.It depicts our nature and characteristic which distinguishes us from each other.How we see/perceive things is perhaps a cummulative result of our personality and experiences.

So I write this post in an attempt to gather as many thoughts on the subject. Lets hear everybodys comments.
