The Other Side Of You

I was watching Grey's Anatomy last evening, Season 1-episode 2. I thoroughly enjoyed this dialog

"At some point you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in.Life is messy. That's how we are made.So you can waste your life drawing lines, or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines that are way too dangerous to cross. Here's what I know, if you are willing to take the chance, then the you from the other side is spectacular."

Thanks to Isbah, for introducing the show to me. I am growing fond of it.

reminds me of one of my favorite poems:

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me
black as the pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
for my unconquerable soul

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud
Under the bludgeonings of chance
my head is bloody, but unbowed

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
looms but the horror of the shade
and yet the menace of the years
finds, and shall find me, unafraid

It matters not how strait the gate
how charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul

reminded me of my taqreer that impressed isbah on her blog =)

it takes courage to cross the line..here is the comment again:

"People are afraid to pursue their most important dreams, because they feel that they don’t deserve them, or that they’ll be unable to achieve them"

the point is to strive to achieve ur dreams, give it ur best shot and leave it to Allah.
if u don't get what u desired don't be disheartened...just have faith and know that God has something better in store for u.

be thankful and content with what you have, but this shouldn't stop u from dreaming and reaching out for what you want..but at the same time you should know your limits.

so what if there are no fishes in the lake? u don't need the fish!
u stuggled to find the fish and thats what matters in the end.

"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity."

a couple of days back i was the the art gallery here in isb and two sulptors made me compare the feeling of 'fear of suffering' and the suffering itself ... the bottom line is that the feeling they both left me with made me realise that "fear" with all its horrors has some excitement attached to it but once you meet your fear the devastation that suffering carries is worse ! ... and no matter how much of time passes by, every small recollection of that suffering makes a deadly snake, once again spirally dance up and down in your stomach ... and it lingers ... !

if the fear of suffering is holding you back from fulfilling your ambitions\dreams\promises\passions then the fear of suffering is painfully killing and far worse then the suffering itself.
