Yaadon key samandar

kaash yaadon key samandar mein doob sakta mein bhi
yaar kehtay key pyaar lazawaal kiya

par tu nay yaadein bhi naa baksheen mujh ko
mein kinnarray baitha yoonhi takta reh gaya

jiss kashti ka tha dil-e-naa-saboor muntazar
uss naao ka aana dil pey bohat bhaari guzra

terri kiss ada pey na jaane mein nisaar howa
sirf itna maana key mein be-ikhtayaar howa

ghum-e-yaar liay jeetay hain hazaroon yoon hii
tum bhi jee lo gay yaser iss pyaar bina

terri kiss ada pey na jaane mein nisaar howa
sirf itna maana key mein be-ikhtayaar howa

Its like being in love with someone you could never like ... :( ... Ironic haan !

it is sad hanna? sounds more sad when i read it now.

please allow me to share a stream of thoughts on a topic marginally related to the final verse.

contemporary society seems to regard the absence of romantic love almost as if it were the greatest tragedy on earth!

think to yourself...
what do you feel when you see (an otherwise normal person) who is physically impaired in some manner?
do you feel sad for him? pitiful? do you feel thankful for your own gifts?

(romantic) love can be no more essential to ones well being than say a leg... or the sense a hearing.. or sight. we can (at least i can) imagine a physically challenged person being happy and content... why then is it so difficult to imagine a person at peace with himself if he is not in a romantic relationship?

if the cripple (loveless fellow) focused all his time pondering on the limb (love) he could have had, he is obviously not going to find much joy. it is not the things that we wish we had that will bring us joy.. rather it is what we do with the things already in our possession.

Just like being physically impaired is pitiful, the absence of romantic love is tragic too.

But its all relative, you can't label it as the biggest tragedy on earth for everybody. Maybe for somebody losing their one true love might be their biggest loss. But then there is a difference between losing someone vs not ever feeling that way for anyone.

Regardless such stuff is exaggerated in books and t.v.

Now I am thinking, kay we don't have control over it.If you don't love anybody, you just dont, what can be done?. It comes naturally, can't be forced or can it be developed?. hmmm
