learned to love somebody after they left an average initial impression?
I think we exert tremendous indirect control over our feelings. How else do we control our anger? not simply ignore anger but subdue it?
We might have limited or no 'control' over our first reaction. but the evolution of feelings is very much influenced by the choices we make following this initial knee-jerk response. in fact, I believe, in many cases we can even temper our initial response by consciously inculcating certain thoughts and habits."
